“Ok, class, I need everyone to calm down,” Gunny said from the front of the room. To him, the popping that they thought might be fireworks had the distinct sound of an AK-47. He quickly made his way to the door to check out what was going on. He peered first to his left, and then to his right down the hallway, noticing two people in the hallway to the right.

“Very funny, Big Guy,” the girl said as she stretched. Over the next few minutes, the rest of the students joined them outside the gym, ready for their run. “Sergeant Grafton here thinks he might be faster than us,” Tisha informed the group. She was giving him a little good-natured ribbing. “How old are you, like forty-five?”
