After classes, Jack and Amy rushed to Norfolk International Airport for their flight to Las Vegas. The game was set to be launched at the Computer and Video Gaming Expo Show on Saturday. The whole company was launching at the show. Prince Interactive Gaming was the name of the new venture. With borrowed assets from Prince Systems, they were rolling out the new title and the new company with the official announcement at eight o’clock, Saturday morning.
Amy was even more nervous than she had been giving the graduation speech. She was launching a company. Originally it was going to be a division of Prince Systems, but both Steve and her father had wanted it to be fully independent. Steve had been offered a fifty-one percent stake in the first game but turned it down. Instead he got a twenty-five percent stake in the game and ten percent of the company. He was also the lead developer and Chief Technology Officer. Amy was shocked when they handed her business cards that gave her the title of President and CEO. Her father was Chairman of the Board of Directors.
At eighteen years old, she was launching a company at the biggest trade show in the industry. She had no experience running a company like this… or any company. And Dirk Bryce had “leaked” some of the game to a few industry insiders, so there was already buzz about the game. Read More
