Lane is an author, photographer and real estate agent based in the suburbs north of Atlanta, Georgia. He’s long been an Explorer. In a world of people that call themselves gurus, experts and masters. He doesn’t believe most of them.
When most real estate agents were unaware of social media, and thought high tech was a static web page with their fax number on it, Lane was digging into social media and blogging.
After discovering blogging a few years ago, he dove headlong into it. In two years, Lane produced over 1000 posts about real estate, cars and technology, as well as other subjects on Active|Rain, LaneBailey.com, LaneBailey.info, GwinnettGarageGuy, CoolCaroftheDay and a few others.
Before real estate and the blogging revolution, Lane spent ten years in the world of professional photography followed by several years of managing a retail photography store with a portrait studio.
And the newest venture is writing fiction. He had a story kicking around in his head and it didn’t seem to want to go away, so he decided to write it out. But then the characters told him it wasn’t over, so he wrote the second book. Little did he know that there would be a third and fourth book in that series. Currently he is working on a new book with new characters that isn’t part of the Dixon-Prince series. He also has a few other stories in the pipeline.
A few years ago, Lane organized Social Media Breakfast Atlanta, along with Ken Cook and became an Active|Rain Ambassador, among other things. He has more than 30 featured posts on the Active|Rain blogging network, including several that were top headliners for the A|R newsletter and has presented on Social Networking at the first REbarCamp in San Francisco, and other similar events around the country.
On this blog, Lane writes about writing, photography and (every once in a while) the technology of real estate.
