I started reading mysteries, thrillers, suspense, romance and other genres in order to help me better develop parts of my storylines. I went from enjoying mostly science fiction and fantasy… which is what I wanted to write… to reading and enjoying a much wider selection of genres… because that is what I was able to write.

“Nick, where are you, Man? You are supposed to be here,” Junior replied, a slight edge to his voice.
“I’m stuck… in a closet… in a girl’s bedroom. Her parents came home, and I was up here. I can’t get out until they go to sleep.”
Junior started laughing. “Window?”
“Her room is on the second floor and there are some nasty bushes down there. Trust me, I thought about that option.”
