The common thing I see on the webs is that if I wanted there to be no mistakes, I would hire an editor… and yet, reading BIG NAME authors, I often spot multiple mistakes, especially in first editions. They have a phalanx of editors and others that go through their books with a fine-toothed comb, and there are STILL errors. It happens.

Kicking Butt and Making Names
Published in Book, In Real LifeWhen I am working with real people or fictionalized events, I change the names… usually a lot. I don’t want them getting the wrong idea (that I like or don’t like them more or less than I really do). That is why I seldom want people to know there is a character based on them. It gets messy.
