There was an unexpected dip in the road, tossing the car off balance. The bend in the road was ever so slight, but it was enough for the Corvette to careen out of control. The rear end swung right, then snapped back left, throwing the car at the guardrail. It clipped the end of the barrier and spun over the edge, sliding toward the lower switchback.
